HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCMinutes_2002_02_25 450 Brookings City Council February 25, 2002 Minutes The Brookings City Council convened in regular session on Monday, February 25, 2002, at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following members present: Mayor Virgil Hemott, Council Members Tom Bozied, Doris Roden, Scott Munsterman, Keri Weems, Mike McClemans and Sam Artz. City Manager Michael Williams and City Attorney Steve Britzman were also present. Consent enda. Motion was made by Artz, seconded by Roden, to approve the consent agenda which included the February 11, 2�2 meeting minutes; action to award bids for 35 leased new cars from EZ Go Golf Carts at$537.12 per car or$18,799.20 annually; action to appoint Dave Kurtz to the Planning Commission; action to approve Resolution No. 04-02; declaring three police cars surplus properry; action to approve Resolution No. 07-02, declaring the Jaws of Life surplus property; action to approve a request for abatement from Sean Lesnar, for 1906 Council Ridge Road, Lot 80, Santee Village, for a portion of the 2001 property taxes in the amount of$722.75; and adoption of the agenda. Second reading was held on Ordinance No. 02A2, an ordinance entitled"An Ordinance supplementing the annual appropriation ordinance as made for the year 2002 by Ordinance No. 14-01 and for the purpose of providing for additional funds (CVB Fund) for the operation of the city, and declaring an emergency." Motion was made by Munsterman, seconded by Bozied, tv instruct the City Attorney to communicate to the Brookings Counry Commission to comply with the ordinance in the appointment of an active medical staff person(Dr.John Ramsay). All present voted yes; except Herriott and Artz voted no; motion carried Motion was made by Munsterman, seconded by Weems, to appoint Dr.John Ramsay as an e�c-officio member to the Brookings Hospital Board in a temporary capacity. All present voted yes; motion carried. Executive Session. Motion was made by McClemans, seconded by Weems, to enter to enter into Executive Session at 6:50 p.m, regarding future discussions with DM&E with the City Attorney, City Clerk and City Manager present. All members voted YES; motion carried. Motion was made by Weems, 452 seconded by Munsterman, to return to regular session at 8:06 p.m. All members voted YES; motion carried. Motion was made by Roden, seconded by Bozied, to adjourn. All members voted YES; motion carried.
