Brookings City Council
Planning Session
October 15, 2001
The Brookings City Council convened in a planning session on Monday, October 15,
2001 at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall with the following members present: Mayor Virgil Herriott,
Council Members Mike McClemans, Tom Bozied, Keri Weems, Doris Roden, and Scott
Munsterman. Sam Artz was absent. City Manager Michael Williams and City Attorney
Steve Britzman were also present. Mayor Herriott called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
The Council agreed to meet until completion of the pui�lished agenda items.
Senior Citizen Center Plan. Bob Rsvavy, project architect from Banner Associates Inc.,
provided an overview of the Brookings Senior Citixens Center Study dated May, 2001. The
study provides evaluations of renovating the existing facility and the construction of a new
facility. Motion was made by Bozied, seconded by Munsterman, to schedule further
discussion of the Senior Center Plan at the first available planning session (December 3`�).
All present voted yes; motion carried.
The following topics wete discussed and no action was ta.ken: Update reports on the Larson
Ice Rink and Fishback Soccer Field projects, a change order for the Larson Ice Center
project, a status report of the Brookings Youth Council, and future quarterly meetings with
the MultiPlex Board.
Future discussion re�ardine Ends Policies. Motion was made by Roden, seconded by
Munsterman, to hold a special Council Planning Session on Monday, October 29, 2001, to
discuss Ends Policies. All present voted yes; motion canied.
Motion was made by Bozied, seconded by Munsterman, to adjoum. Meeting adjourned at
8:20 p.m.
