HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCMinutes_2001_09_27 413 Brookings City Council September 27, 2001 The Brookings City Council convened in special session on Thursday, September 27, 2001, at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall with the following members present: Mayor Virgil Herriott, Council Members Tom Bozied, Doris Rodeq Scott Munsterman, Sam Artz, Mike McClemans and Keri Weems. City Manager Michael Williams was also present. Action on an agreement between the Brookings Ice Skating Association(BISA) and the City of Brookings was added to the agenda. Motion was made by Bozied, seconded by Weems, to adopt the agenda as amended. All present voted yes; motion carried. Artz arrived at 8:32 am Ordinance No. 14-01 —2002 Budget. Second reading and action on Ordinance 14-01, an ordinance appropriating monies to fund the necessary expenditures and liabilities for the City for the 2002 Fiscal Year and providing for the annual tax levy and annual tax for all funds. A motion was made by Bozied, seconded by Weems, to approve Ordinance No. 14-01. Motion was made by Munsterman, seconded by Weems, to amend Ordinance No. 14-01 to include $15,000 for East Central Mental Health subsidy. On the amendment, all present voted yes; motion carried. Motion was made by Roden, seconded by Artz, to amend the main motion to include the City Manager's recommended budget as presented on September 17, 2001. On the amendment, Herriott, Roden and Artz voted yes; Bozied, Weems, McClemans and Munsterman voted no; motion failed. On the original motion as amended; Bozied, Weems, McClemans and Munsterman voted yes; Herriott, Roden and Artz voted no; motion camed. Agreement-MultiPleg Management Contract Amendment. A motion was made by Weems, seconded by Bozied, to approve an amendment to the MultiPlex Management Contract. All present voted yes; motion carried. Agreement- Brookings Area MultiPlez Agreement Amendment. A motion was made by Bozied, seconded by Weems, to approve an amendment to the Brookings Area MultiPlex Agreement. All present voted yes; motion carried. Agreement—Brookings Ice Skating Association (BISA). The City Council reviewed an agreement between the Brookings Ice Skating Association(BISA) and the City of Brookings peRaining to pouring rights and advertising for the Larson Ice Center. A motion was made by Bozied, seconded by Weems, to approve the agreement between the City of Brookings and BISA. All present voted yes; motion carried. Motion was made by Weems, seconded by Munsterman, to adjourn. All present voted YES; motion carried.
