Brookings City Council Meeting
2002 Budget Work Session
Monday,August 20, 2001
1:00—5:00 p.m.
The Brookings City Council convened in a special budget work session at 1:00 p.m. at City Hall
with the following members present: Mayor Virgil Herriott, Council Members Tom Bozied,
Scott Munsterman, Mike McClemans, Sam Artz and Keri Weems. Doris Roden was absent.
City Manager Michael Williams was also present.
Budget proposals from the Downtown Brookings, Inc. organization, the Brookings Arts Council,
the Brookings Area Community Band, and the Brookings Economic Development Center were
reviewed by the City Council.
Darrell Hartmann, Brookings Fire Chief, gave a presentation on the Brookings Fire Department's
ISA rating.
Motion was made by Weems, seconded by Bozied, to enter an executive session for legal matters
in the Mills Mediation. All present voted yes; motion carried. Herriott left the meeting at 5:36
p.m. Motion was made by Munsterman, seconded by McClemans, to leave executive session.
All present voted yes; motion carried.
Motion was made by Bozied, seconded by Munsterman, to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 6:30
p.m.
