Brookings City Council
March 22, 2001
The Brookings City Council convened in special session on Thursday, March 22, 2001 at 5:30
p.m. in City Hall with the following members present: Mayor Virgil Herriott, Mike McClemans,
Tom Bozied, Keri Weems, Bill Davidson (via telephone), Nate Bibby and Sam Artz. City
Manager Michael Williams and City Attorney Steve Britzman were also present.
Consent Agenda. Motion was made by Artz, seconded by Weems, to approve the consent
agenda consisting of authorization of the sale of three police cars for a total of$18,400 to Ray
Cheyka, Jr. and adoption of the agenda. All members voted YES; motion carried.
Citv Manager and Ends Policv Evaluation. Motion was made by Artz, seconded by Bibby, to
select Chris Aesoph as the facilitator for the City Manager and the Ends Policy Evaluation to be
held on Apri120-21, 2001. All present voted yes; motion camed.
Bids—Ice Arena and Multiuuraose Facilitv. Motion was made by Artz, seconded by
Weems, to award the base bid with selected alternates No. 1, 2 and 3 for a combined total of
$4,770,000 to Gil Haugan Construction from Sioux Fa11s. All present voted yes; except
Davidson, motion carried.

Adiournment: Motion to adjourn was made by Weems, seconded by Bozied. Meeting
adjourned at 5:36 p.m.
