Brookings City Council
November 8, 2000
A special meeting of the City Council was held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday,November 8,2000 in City
Hall. Mayor Virgil Herriott, Council Members Weems, Bozied, McClemans, Davidson(via telephone),
Bibby, and Artz were present. City Manager Michael Williams and City Attorney Steve Britzman were
also present.
Kevin Schieffer, DM&E Railroad President, was present to discuss options regarding a bypass and
materials to be submitted to the Surface Transportation Board(STB)with respect to the Draft
Environmental Impact Statement(DEIS).
Motion was made by Bibby, seconded by McClemans, to enter executive session for purposes of
discussing contractual matters. City Attorney,City Manager and City Clerk were also present. All
present voted yes; motion carried. Weems anived at 9:10 p.m. Motion was made by Weems, seconded
by McClemans, to leave executive session.
Motion was made by Weems, seconded by Artz,to hold a special City Council meeting at 4:15 p.m.,
Thursday,November 9, 2000. All present voted yes; motion carried.
Motion was made by Weems, seconded by Artz,to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 9:50 p.m.
