Commission Chambers July 13, 1999
City of Brookings
The City Commission convened in regular session at 7:30 PM with the following members
present: Murra, Klavetter and Wicks. Absent Artz and Hauschild.
Alan Glover, Attorney was present.
Minutes of the special meeting held at 12:00 Noon July 6, 1999 were read and approved.
Minutes of the regular meeting held July 6, 1999 were read and approved.
Motion was made by Klavetter, seconded by Wicks approving the agenda. All members voted
YES; motion carried.
A Public hearing was held for an on-off sale malt beverage license for Halstead's Restaurant
&Pub. All present were given an opportunity to be heard. Motion was made by Klavetter,
seconded by Wicks approving the license to be located in the 600 block on South Main Ave. All
members voted YES; motion carried.
Bids which were opened today and publicly read were presented at this time:
CENTRAL STATES FIRE APPARATUS, INC. $217,976.00
No Other Bids ---------------
Motion was made by Wicks, seconded by Klavetter approving the low bid in the amount of
$217,976.00 from Central States Fire Apparatus, Inc. of Lyons, South Dakota for a new pumper fire
truck. All members voted YES; motion carried.
Introduction and first reading of Ordinance No. 18-99 rezoning Outlot 1 of the NW1/4,
NE1/4 of Section 22-T110N-RSOW from a Residence R-lA district to a Business B-3 district
(located on Hwy. #14 By-Pass near the Diagonal west of the city). Motion was made by Wicks,
seconded by Klavetter approving the first reading of Ordinance No.18-99. All members voted YES;
motion carried.
Introduction and first reading of Ordinance No. 19-99 amending the 1994 Revised Zoning
Ordinance pertaining to Accessory Buildings. Motion was made by Wicks, seconded by Klavetter
approving the first reading of Ordinance No. 19-99. All members voted YES;motion carried.
Introduction and first reading of Ordinance No. 20-99 amending the 1994 Revised Zoning
Ordinance pertaining to signs. Motion was made by Wicks, seconded by Klavetter approving the
first reading of Ordinance No. 20-99. All members voted YES; motion carried.
Introduction and first reading of Ordinance No. 21-99 supplementing Annual Appropriation
Ordinance No. 21-98, the Budget for 1999. Motion was made by Wicks, seconded by Klavetter
approving the first reading of Ordinance No. 21-99. All members voted YES; motion carried.
Motion was made by Klavetter, seconded by Wicks approving a preliminary plat of Lots 1-12
of Block 1 and Lots 1-7 of Block 2, Telkamp Industrial Addition. All members voted YES; motion
carried.
Motion was made by Wicks, seconded by Klavetter to table for two weeks a re-zoning
request for the E200' of the N 325' of Block 12, Parkdale Home Addition, which was returned to
the City Planning Commission for reconsideration. All members voted YES; motion carried.
Motion was made b Wicks seconded by Klavetter approving authorization to publish 15 9

notice to bidders to rent the Airport hay land. All members voted YES; motion carried.
Motion was made by Wicks, seconded by Klavetter approving Resolution No.63-99
rescinding Resolution No. 62-99 which approved Change Order(CCO#32) for the Brookings Multi-
Plex Construction Project.
