HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCMinutes_1999_03_23 099 Commission Chambers March 23, 1999 City of Brookings The City Commission convened in regular session at 7:30 PM with the following members present: Klavetter, Murra, Plumart, Artz and Mayor Hauschild Alan Glover, Attorney was present. Minutes of the regular meeting held March 16, 1999 were read and approved. Motion was made by Artz, seconded by Plumart approving the bills and claims. Motion was made by Murra, seconded by Klavetter approving the agenda. A public hearing was held on the removal of property located at 919 and 923 8'�' Street in the University residential historic district. All present were given an opportunity to be heard. No action was taken at this time. A public hearing was held on Ordinance No. 9-99 re-zoning the E 100' of Lot 1, Block 1, Avery's Addition from a Residence R-2 district to a Business B-4 district. (1430 6`'' Street) All present were given an opportunity to be heard. Motion was made by Klavetter, seconded by Plumart approving Ordinance No. 9-99. All members voted YES except Murra abstained; motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 9-99 AN ORDINANCE TO CHANGE THE ZONING WITHIN THE CITY OF BROOKINGS A public hearing was held on Ordinance No. 7-99 approving a conditional use permit to establish a major home occupation(small household antiques) on the W 48 '/4' E 97 '/2' of Lot 4, Block 6, Hill Park Addition. (1211 3`d Street) All present were given an opportunity to be heard. Motion was made by Plumart, seconded by Murra approving Ordinance No. 7-99. All members voted YES; motion carried. � 100 ORDINANCE NO. 7-99 AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO AN APPLICATION FOR A CONDITIONAL USE TO ESTABLISH A MAJOR HOME OCCUPATION (SMALL HOUSEHOLD ANTIQUES) IN THE RESIDENCE R-2 DISTRICT. A public hearing was held on Ordinance No. 8-99 re-zoning Lot 2,Nelson Second Addition from a Residence R-lA District to a Residence RMH District. (15`" Street South and Medary Avenue South) All present were given an opportunity to be heard. Motion was made by Klavetter, seconded by Plumart approving Ordinance No. 8-99. All members voted YES; motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 8-99 AN ORDINANCE TO CHANGE THE ZONING WITHIN THE CITY OF BROOKINGS Motion was made by Klavetter, seconded by Plumart approving a preliminary plat of Lots 1 — 15 of Block 1,Nelson Second Addition with the condition that the R.O.W. be changed from 30 feet to 35 feet on 15`h Street South. All members voted YES; motion carried. A public hearing was held on Ordinance No.10-99 approving an application for a conditional use permit to establish a major home occupation(electronic repair)on Lot 1, Block 5, Randi Peterson's Addition. (702 11`�'Avenue) All present were given an opportunity to be heard. Motion was made Murra, seconded by Plumart approving Ordinance No. 10-99. All members voted YES; motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 10-99 AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO AN APPLICATION FOR A CONDITIONAL USE FOR A MAJOR HOME OCCUPATION (ELECTRONIC REPAIR) IN THE RESIDENCE R-2 DISTRICT. Motion was made by Plumart, seconded by Murra approving Resolution No. 19-99 change order no. 29 for the Brookings MultiPlex Construction Project. All members voted YES; motion carried. RESOLUTION NO. 19-99 RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER(CCO #29) FOR THE BROOKINGS MULTIPLEX CONSTRUCTION PROJECT BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission that the fcllowing change order be allowed for the Brookings MultiPlex Construction Project: Construction Change Order Number 29 Furnish and install three new double oven cabinets and upper storage cabinets,two in Room 141 and one in Room 139 as shown on Change Drawing No. CD-16. Price shall include installation of existing upper cabinets in another room of the County Office area in a location to be selected by the County. Delete........................................................($13,000.00) Phase 2 101 Dick Peterson, City Planning Commission Chairperson, reported on a comprehensive development plan and goals for the 20/20 plan.
