Brookings City Council
Monday, May 17, 2004
The Brookings City Council convened in a special meeting on Monday, May 17, 2004,,at 4:00
p.m. in City Hall with the following members present: Mayor Scott Munsterman, Council Members
Tim Reed, Julie Whaley, Mike McClemans, Doris Roden, Tom Bozied (arrived at 4:03 p.m.), and
Tom Bezdichek. City Manager Aian D. Lanning, City Attorney Steve Britzman, and City Clerk
Shari Thornes were also present.
Essential Air Service —Air Carrier. Robb Sexauer, Brookings Airport Board Chairman, reviewed
the four air carrier proposals under consideration and recommended the selection of Mesa Air
Group, dba Air Midwest, Proposal One. A motion was made by Roden, seconded by Whaley,
to select Mesa Air Group, dba Air Midwest, Proposal One 1 as the primary proposal dnd
Proposal Three as the back-up. All present voted yes; McClemans abstained, motion carried.
A motion was made by McClemans, seconded by Reed, to authorize the Mayor to sign a letter of
support for the selection of Mesa Air Group Proposal One as the Essential Air Service carrier for
Brookings, SD. All present voted yes; motion carried.
A motion was made by Roden, seconded by McClemans,to adjourn at 4:25 p.m. All present voted
yes; motion carried.
