Brookings City Council
December 16, 2003
The Brookings City Council convened in a special planning meeting with the local legislators on
Tuesday, December 16, 2003, at noon in Brookings City Hall with the following members
present: Mayor Scott Munsterman, Council Members Tim Reed, Tom Bezdichek, Julie Whaley,
Tom Bozied, Mike McClemans, and Doris Roden. Senator Arne Brown and Representatives
Sean O'Brien and Orv Smidt, Interim City Manager Allyn Frerichs, City Attorney Steve
Britzman, and City Clerk Shari Thornes were also present.
The following topics were discussed: sidewalk sales of alcohol to e�end the definition of
"premises" to include public right-of-way; expa.nding the number of alcohol licenses a
corporation may hold in the State of South Dakota; I-29 Corridor Promotion; proposed
Convention Visitor's Bureau legislation; the local Research Park project; and a Third B Tax and
its effect on SDSU food plan. No action was taken.
A motion was made by Bozied, seconded by Roden, to adjourn at 1:04 p.m. All present voted yes;
motion carried.
