Brookings City Council
Friday, October 24, 2003
The Brookings City Council met for a City Manager Profile meeting with AI Thelen, Thelen
Consultants, on Friday, October 24, 2003 at 12:15 p.m. at City Hall with the following members
present: Mayor Scott Munsterman, Council Members Tom Bezdichek (arrived at 12:19 p.m.),
Tom Bozied, Tim Reed, Julie Whaley, Doris Roden, and Mike McClemans. City Manager Mike
Williams, Tracy Dahl-Webb, Human Resources Director, and Shari Thornes, City Clerk, were
also present.
Citv Manager Search Process. Al Thelen, Thelen Consultants, presented a City Manager
Position Profile for review and discussion. The Council approved the document with minor
revisions for distribution to city manager candidates. Search process timeline is as follows:
Application Deadline — 12/10/03; Selection of candidates to interview— 12/23/03; and interviews
on O1/08/04-01/09/04.
The Brookings City Council held a joint meeting with the Municipal Utility Board on Friday,
October 24, 2003 at 1:15 p.m. at City Hall with the following members present: Mayor Scott
Munsterman, Council Members Tom Bezdichek, Tom Bozied, Tim Reed, Julie Whaley, Doris
Roden, and Mike McClemans. Members and staff of the Utility Board, Ciry Manager Mike
Williams, City Attorney Steve Britzman, and City Clerk Shari Thornes were also present.
Review BMU Budget and Utility Transfer Discussion. Chairman Lamberton reported that the
Utility Board held first reading of their budget which remains the same level of transfer
contribution. A joint meeting between the Board and the City Council was scheduled for
November 17, 2003 at 3:00 p.m.
Adiournment. A motion was made by Bozied, seconded by Reed, to adjourn. All present voted
yes; motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 1:24 p.m.
