January 13, 2003
The Brookings City Council convened in a planning session with the Brookings Utility Board at
noon on Monday, January 13, 2003, at the Brookings Utilities with the following members
present: Mayor Virgil Herriott, Council Members Tom Bozied, Doris Roden, Zeno W. Wicks
III, Scott Munsterman and Mike McClemans. Sam Artz was absent. City Manager Mike
Williams and City Attorney Steve Britzman were also present.

Topics discussed included wind energy, local water system usage,the status of the water
treatment, 2002 construction projects,the combining of electric and telephone construction
crews, BMU projected income, customer rates, and the wireless switch to Nortel MTX. An
executive session between the two groups will be scheduled in February. The next regular
meeting will be July 14, 2003. No action was taken.
Meeting adjourned at 1:30 p.m.
