Brookings City Council
May 30, 2006
The Brookings City Council held a special meeting on Tuesday,May 30, 2006, at 5:00 p.m. in Ciry
Hall with the following members present: Mayor Scott Munsterman, Council Members Tom
Bezdichek,Michael Bartley,Julie Whaley,Tim Reed, Ginger Thomson,and Michael Reitz. City
Manager Alan Lanzung, City Attorney Steve Britzman and City Clerk Shari Thornes were also
pxesent.
Executive Session. A motion was made by Whaley, seconded by Reitz, to enter into Executive
Session at 5:00 p.m. fox personnel reasons with the City Council, City Attorney, City Manager,City
Clerk, and Acting Police Chief Maxk Mathies present. All pxesent voted yes;motion carried. A
motion was made by Bartley, seconded by Reitz, to exit Executive Session at 6:10 p.m. All present
voted yes;motion carried.
Interim City Manager Discussion A motion was made by Baxdey, seconded by Reitz,to appoint
Dennis Falken as Interim City Manager effective June 5,2006. Salary to be determined at a later
time. All pxesent voted yes;motion carried.
Utility Board A��ointment. A motion was made by Barttey,seconded by Bezdichek, to
reconsider action taken on May 23,2006 to appoint Tim Harvey to the Utility Board. A motion was
made by Bardey, seconded by Reed, to table to the next agenda. All present voted yes. Motion
Carried to TABLE to June 13, 2006.
Adjourn, A motion was made by Reitz, seconded by Reed, to adjourn. All present voted yes;motion
caxried. Meeting adjouxned at 6:22 p.m.
