Reception for Ginger Thomson The citizens of Brookings are cordially invited to attend a reception honoring Council Member Ginger Thomson for her dedicated service to the City of Brookings. The reception will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. City Hall Community Room 5:00 P.M. WORK SESSION ** Work sessions are open to the public.  During the work session the city staff would brief the council on items for that particular meeting, introduce future topics, and provide a time for Council members to introduce topics. 1. Oath of Office and Presentation of Certificate of Election to Council Members Bartley, Brunner and McClemans. 2. Discussion regarding liquor issues. 3. 6:00 p.m. Meeting Review. 4. City Clerk Reports: Upcoming Council Meetings and Council Invites & Obligations. 5. City Council member introduction of topics for future discussion*. *Any Council member may request discussion of any issue at a future meeting only. Items can not be added for action at this meeting. A motion and second is required starting the issue, requested outcome, and time. A majority vote is required. 6:00 P.M. Minutes. C. Action on Resolution No. 37-08, a resolution awarding bids for 2008-06STI, Chip Seal Project. D. Action on Resolution No. 38-08, a resolution awarding bids for 2008-05STI, 32nd Avenue Street Project. Action: Motion to approve, request public comment, roll call * Matters appearing on the Consent Agenda are expected to be non-controversial and will be acted upon by the Council at one time, without discussion, unless a member of the Council or City Manager requests an opportunity to address any given item.  Items removed from the Consent Agenda will be discussed at the beginning of the formal items.  Approval by the Council of the Consent Agenda items means that the recommendation of the City Manager is approved along with the terms and conditions described in the agenda supporting documentation.
