Brookings City Council
July 16, 2013
The Brookings City Council held a study session on Tuesday,luly 16, 2013 at 5:00 p.m., at City
Hall with the following members present: Mayor Tim Reed, Council Members Jael Thorpe,John
Kubal, Mike McClemans,Tom Bezdichek (arrived 5:09 p.m.), Ope Niemeyer and Keith Corbett.
City Attorney Steve Britzman, City Manager Jeff Weldon, and City Clerk Shari Thornes were also
present.
Discussion topics: Brookings Arts Council Inside Out Art Installation Proposal, Discussion with
SDSU Officials regarding"SDSU Impact 2018" and other campus/community issues, Campus
Community Coalition, Financing Capital Improvement Plan —Second Penny Financial analysis,
Report on Mayor's Volunteer Leadership Coffee held May 16 and 30 and City Council Ex-Officio
Reports.
Topics for Future Studv Sessions. A motion was made by Niemeyer, seconded by Bezdichek,to
review animal control ordinances and enforcement processes at a study session after the
budget. All present voted yes; motion carried.
Adiourn. A motion was made by Corbett, seconded by McClemans,to adjourn. All present
voted yes; motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
