HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 22-2013 Ordinance No. 22-13 An Ordinance authorizing a Supplemental Appropriation to the 2013 Budget for the purpose of providing for Additional Funds for the Operation of the City. Be It Ordained by the City of Brookings, South Dakota: Whereas, it is necessary to recognize additional sales and use tax revenue, grant revenue, license and permit revenue and fee revenue; and Whereas,the expenditure for the retainage held in the fund from previous years needs to be expensed; and Whereas,the expenditure of the grant for software within the police department needs to be recognized in 2013; and Whereas,the expenditure for the economic incentive grants needs to be recognized; and Whereas, the air conditioner at the Senior Activity Center failed; and Whereas,the subsidy budgeted in 2012 to URC for a generator didn't get paid until 2013; and Whereas, it was necessary to purchase the land for the future south fire station; and Whereas,the Swiftel Center had the opportunity to purchase food and beverage equipment at a reduced price; and Whereas State Law (SDCL 9-21-7) and the City Charter (4.06 (a) permit supplemental appropriations provided there are sufficient funds and revenues available to pay the appropriation when it becomes due. Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved by the City Council that the City Manager be authorized to make the following budget adjustments to the 2013 Budget: Budget Amendment#3 Revenue Expense Other-Non-Dept, Gen Gov Buildings, IT 155,104 190,095 Administrative, Council, City Mgr, City Atty 3,584 Public Safety-Police, Fire, Animal Control 2,500 13,049 Public Works-Comm Dev, Engineer, Street 52,194 Total General Government 209,798 206,728 25%Sales & Use Tax 34,857 128,341 75% Public Improvement 104,563 210,763 Swiftel Center 28,175 28,175 Total Special Revenue 167,595 367,279 All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
