An Ordinance Entitled "An Ordinance authorizing a Supplemental Appropriation to the 2013
Budget for the purpose of providing for additional funds for the Operation of the City."
Be It Ordained by the City of Brookings, South Dakota:
Whereas, 32"d Avenue Street project has been completed; and
Whereas, the Camelot Phase 2, Storm Drainage Project has been cancelled; and
Whereas,the design and engineering of the Railroad Safety Gate Project needs to be completed
in 2013 and constructed in 2014; and
Whereas,the street improvements and street sealing were less extensive than anticipated; and
Whereas,there is a need to reduce the transfer to the general fund from the public
improvement fund for street improvements and street sealing, and transfer funds to the special
assessment fund for 32nd Avenue street improvement costs; and
Whereas, it is necessary to adjust budgets between departments within the general fund and
create the Dakota Nature Park in 2013 for operational costs; and
Whereas, it is necessary to recognize actual revenues and expenses within the General Fund;
and
Whereas, it is necessary to recognize additional rental income and building improvement costs
at the Research and Technology Center; and
Whereas State Law (SDCL 9-21-7) and the City Charter (4.06 (a) permit supplemental
appropriations provided there are sufficient funds and revenues available to pay the
appropriation when it becomes due.
Now,Therefore, Be it Resolved by the City Council that the City Manager be authorized to make
the following budget adjustments to the 2013 budget:
