HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 19-2002 ORDINANCE NO 19-02 AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION TO THE 2002 BUDGET FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE CITY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA: Section 1. WHEREAS,the Annual Appropriation Ordinance for the year 2002, Ordinance No. 14-01, will be impacted by: 1. An unexpected donation 2. Available funds for capital purchases. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to increase the General Fund Miscellaneous Income by$20,000. Section 3. THERE IS HEREBY appropriated for the purpose of maintaining and operating the City of Brookings, an additional sum from the following fund: Capital Reserve(General Fund, P&R Capital) $53,000 Section 4. City Manager is authorized to allow additional funds to be appropriated from the General Fund Capital Reserve for the purchase of an ice resurfacing machine. Section 5. The City Manager is directed to establish a receivable for the difference between the $20,000 and the cost of the machine to be repaid by the Brookings Ice Skating Association. Section 6. ALL ORDINANCES or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 7. THE CITY CHARTER allows that"if during the fiscal year the City Manager certifies that there are available for appropriation revenues in excess of those estimated in the budget, the City Council by ordinance may make supplemental appropriations for the year up to the amount of such excess". This Ordinance is declared to be for the support of the municipal government and its existing public institutions and it shall be in full force and effect after its passage and publication.
