AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A SUPPLEMENTAL
APPROPRIATION TO THE 2002 BUDGET FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FOR
ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE CITY AND AUTHORIZING
THE USE OF 2ND PENNY FUNDS."
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section 1. WHEREAS, the Annual Appropriation Ordinance for the year 2002,
Ordinance No. 14-01 appropriating revenue for the operation of the municipal government for
the year 2002, it was unknown the amount of funds necessary and the amount of funds that
would eventually be available in the Public Improvement Fund and the Sales and Use Tax Fund.
Section 2. THERE IS HEREBY appropriated for the purpose of maintaining and
operating the City of Brookings, an additional sum from the following funds:
Public Improvements Fund(75%2nd Penny), $150,000
Sales Use Tax Fund(75% 2'd Penny), $111,000
These funds will be utilized to complete the parking lots at the Larson Ice Arena/Multiplex
Complex.
Section 3. ALL ORDINANCES or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
Section 4. THE CITY CHARTER allows that"if during the fiscal year the City
Manager certifies that there are available for appropriation revenues in excess of those estimated
in the budget, the City Council by ordinance may make supplemental appropriations for the year
up to the amount of such excess". This Ordinance is declared to be for the support of the
municipal government and its existing public institutions and it shall be in full force and effect
after its passage and publication.
