An Ordinance Rescinding Ordinance No. 17-03 To Comply With An
Auditor's Recommendation
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BROOKINGS,
SOUTH DAKOTA,AS FOLLOWS,TO-WIT:
Section I.
WHEREAS there was a Capital Reserve established for Fire Department Buildings and
Equipment(Fire Substation and Rescue Truck); and
Section II.
WHEREAS Ordinance No. 17-03 increased the Fire Capital reserve to$270,000 for the
purchase of a heavy rescue truck; and
Section III.
WHEREAS the Auditor has recommended that the capital reserve be eliminated and
expenditures made directly from the 25% Second Penny Fund; and
Section IV.
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,that Ordinance No. 17-03 be rescinded,the capital
reserves eliminated by placing the funds in the 25% Second Penny Fund; and
Section V.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED,that the annual appropriation from the 25% Second Penny
Fund be increased by$270,000.
