AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A SUPPLEMENTAL
APPROPRIATION TO THE 2003 BUDGET FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FOR
ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE CITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section 1. WHEREAS,the Annual Appropriation Ordinance for the year 2003, Ordinance
No. 20-02,will be impacted by the need for a basketball floor and goals for the MultiPlex.
Section 2. THERE IS HEREBY appropriated for the purpose of maintaining and
operating the City of Brookings, an additional sum from the following fund:
Capital Reserve(General Fund, MultiPlex Capital) $61,175
Section 3. City Manager is authorized to allow additional funds to be appropriated from
the General Fund Capital Reserve for the purchase of a new basketball floor and goals.
Section 4. The City Manager is directed to establish a receivable for$61,175 to be repaid
by the MultiPlex Board.
Section 5. ALL ORDINANCES or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
Section 6. THE CITY CHARTER allows that"if during the fiscal year the City Manager
certifies that there are available for appropriation revenues in excess of those estimated in the
budget,the City Council by ordinance may make supplemental appropriations for the year up to the
amount of such excess". This Ordinance is declared to be for the support of the municipal
government and its existing public institutions and it shall be in full force and effect after its
passage and publication.
