HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 13-2005 - failed Ordinance No. 13-05 An Ordinance Amending Articles I and VI Of Chapter 82 Of the Code Of Ordinances of the City Of Brookings And Pertaining To Parking in the City of Brookings. Be It Ordained by the City of Brookings that Sections 82-1, 82-437 and 82-432 of Articles I and VI of Chapter 82 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Brookings be amended to read as follows: I. The following definition shall be added to Article I. Sec.82-1: Sec. 82-1. Definitions. Recreational vehicle is a vehicular portable structure built on a chassis designed to be used as a temporary dwelling for travel, recreational and vacation uses, permanently identified as "travel trailer" by the manufacturer of the trailer. Article VI, Stopping,Standing and Parking shall be amended as follows: Division 1. Generally Sec. 82-432. Parking in excess of 72 hours. It shall be unlawful for the driver, operator or owner of any motor vehicle, trailer or implement to park or leave standing, or permit to be parked or left standing, any motor vehicle, on any street, avenue, or alley in the city for a continuous period of 72 hours or longer. Sec. 82-437. Prohibited-parking in residential districts. It shall be unlawful for the driver, operator or owner to park a bus, semi or road tractor, farm tractor, trailers of any size, boat, boat trailer, camper or motor home, farm equipment, construction equipment or recreational vehicle on a street in a residential district between the hours of 11:00 P.M.to 5:00 A.M. This section does not prohibit the parking of commercially licensed vehicles or trailers which are used by owners,operators or drivers who are actively working within the block where the vehicle is parked but do not reside in said block. At no time shall a semi trailer be parked or left standing in or adjacent to a residential zoned area or where otherwise prohibited by an official sign or marking, with the exception of those semi trailers actively engaged in pick-up or delivery within the block where the semi trailer is parked.
