BOARD OF TRUSTEES
January 14, 2021
MEETING MINUTES
The Board of Trustees of the Brookings Public Library met on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 12:04 pm in the Historical Room at
the Brookings Public Library.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Kathy Miller, Deb Waltman, Michael Linehan, Doug O’Neill, Stephanie Carroll
OTHERS PRESENT: Nita Gill, Jen Anderson
1. Call to Order
Nita Gill called the meeting to order.
2. Approval of Agenda
Nita Gill called for approval of the meeting agenda. Deb Waltman moved to approve the meeting agenda. Michael Linehan
seconded. Motion carried.
3. Approval of Minutes
Nita Gill called for approval of the minutes from the December 17, 2020 meeting. Michael Linehan moved to approve the
meeting minutes. Kathy Miller seconded. Motion carried.

5.1 Approval of Bills
The Library Board members discussed the December 2020 bills, budgets and expenditures. Michael Linehan moved to approve
the December 2020 bills. Deb Waltman seconded. Motion carried.
5.2 Election of Officers
The Library Board members discussed electing new officers. Sarah Meusburger (President) and Doug O’Neill (Vice President)
served for one year. Deb Waltman moved to elect Kathy Miller as President of the Library Board. Doug O’Neill seconded.
Motion carried. Kathy Miller moved to elect Deb Waltman as Vice President of the Library Board. Michael Linehan seconded.
Motion carried.
6. Other Items & Reports
6.1 Financial Report
Nita Gill presented the review of the 2020 Budget through December to the Library Board members. The Library Board
members discussed the budget.
6.2 Librarian’s Report
Nita Gill presented the monthly report to the Library Board members. Nita Gill informed the Library Board about Ashia
Gustafson’s return from Maternity Leave next week.
7. Public Comment on Items not on Agenda
8. Next Meeting: Thursday, February 11 at 12:00 PM
9. Adjournment
Michael Linehan moved to adjourn the meeting. Doug O’Neill seconded. The meeting adjourned at 12:34 pm.
