Advisory Board Meeting Minutes
Thursday, April 20th, 2023 @ 12pm
Swiftel Center
Present: Elena McKeown, Kyleigh Cramer, Jeff Holm, Nick Schmeichel, Bill Retterath, Jennifer Johnson,
Mike Logan, Swiftel Center General Manager; Ashley Biggar, Swiftel Center Director of Marketing, Jake
Meshke, City of Brookings.
Agenda Discussions:
➢ Jeff called the meeting to order.
➢ February minutes were approved.
➢ Mike gave an update on Full and Part-time hiring. Kelly Dahlhoff was hired as our event coordinator.
The Swiftel Center is now fully staffed in full time roles. Our focus will now be on part-time hiring.
➢ Mike presented and the board discussed a SWOT analysis of the facility. Highlights include strong
March events and Q1 2024 booking, SDSU Rodeo, training, and fall/winter booking opportunities.
We are also seeing threats with weather affecting attendance, POS issues, and market concert holds.
➢ Mike gave an update on Swiftel Center capital projects. The barn audio project will start on May 8th.
The HVAC project has started and is scheduled to be completed in May. Mike gave an update on our
POS system project and potential bathroom remodels.
➢ Mike presented the February financials.
➢ Mike presented an update on partnerships.
➢ Next meeting is scheduled for June 15th at 12:00pm.
➢ Jeff adjourned the meeting.
