Skate Board Park Committee City is storing skateboards on skateboarders’ behalf. 2-4 benches would be ideal. Stacy Claussen shared that we would need to be ADA compliant. Graffiti wall: waiting for city and contractor to finalize designs in order to know space. Option for vinyls on the water fountain and garbage. Bike rack: could commission an artist to create a bike rack out of bike parts/old equipment from the skate park Note: Need to bring the project to the Park and Rec board. Park and Rec board typically meets the first Monday of the month. Three-day turnaround from Park and Rec after the board receives the information. Previous skate park material is available to be reused in some fashion; perhaps by an artist. 2. 3rd Floor City Building Committee Option to receive donations from the South Dakota Art Museum. Cost: frames, plexi, hardware Commission member commented on the history of the first floor art project. That project utilized a Call for Project, a more inclusive. 3. Nature Park Committee Updates from Stacy: Rain gardens are being installed at the nature park this year. Conceptual ideas from the nature park. Suggestion for location: 32nd street entrance. Eye- catching, publicly visible. Most likely we would do a call for artists. Will need to consider narrowing guidelines for a call. 4. Mural Downtown Committee Installation this summer. $1,000.00 has been committed to the downtown mural. Mural will be installed on top of the brick. Chuck Bennis will be the artist. BPAC will be acknowledged. Decisions regarding each project Prioritizing short term and long term projects 5. Pickleball Court Wind Screen Report. Windscreen frayed. Fabric was installed correctly, but the fabric wasn’t strong enough. Outlaw working with screen vendor because the grommets may have been installed incorrectly. 6. Police Department Sculpture They don’t want to move the sculpture to the new facility. Sculptural history is that the Police Department commissioned the project in show of support, celebration and commitment to the Special Olympics. Linda Purrington to follow up with Police Department. 7. Adjournment 1:06pm Motion to adjourn by Carson. Weiland seconded.
