1. The meeting was called to order at 12:01pm
2. Approval of Agenda
A motion to approve the agenda with the addition of discussion of downtown signs, was
made by Ramona, seconded by Rachel. The motion carried by the following votes:

3. Approval of minutes
A motion to approve the minutes was made by Matt, seconded by Rachel. The motion
carried by the following votes:

4. Officer elections
Chair
A motion to approve Mark as chair was made by Matt, seconded by Ramona. The

Aysia is working on promotional images for the ASL class. Potential ideas for
how to run the Mini Grant proposals in the future.

7. New Member Introductions
8. Work Plan Item:
a. March Developmental Disability Awareness Month
i. Mark requested Maureen provide information on the proclamation and
dates.
ii. Maureen said she would attach information to next month’s agenda.
9. Listening Session Update
a. The overview document with recommendations will be sent out to the committee
members.
b. In regards to Parks & Recreation recommendations, Maureen asked for final
recommendations and information will be sent to the committee to present to
Parks and Rec.
9. ASL Class: Update
a. Everything is going as expected. Promotional and enrollment are currently being
worked on. It is on the library calendar, but not open to sign up.
b. Starts Feb 12th and ends April 2nd, registration opens February 5th. Mark
encouraged the committee to share the event on Facebook.
c. Aysia will send out an email when it is posted. 15 people, max. 8 week long
course.
10. Events/Publicity Discussion
- “Building an Inclusive Mainstreet” conversation on 2/10/24 at 6pm at
Cottonwood Downtown.
- ASL Class begins February 12th.
- March 14th, Sensory Friendly Dance for high school students.
- Community Meeting at SDSU on March 27th at 12-1:15pm, “Let’s Talk About
Autistic Culture.” at SDSU in the Student Union 2nd Floor. Lewis and Clark
Room.
- Maureen reminded the committee that when sending event information, to BCC
everyone in an email.
12. Next meeting is February 27th at 12:00PM, hybrid format.
-March meeting date and time will be determined at the next meeting.
-Maureen suggested Wednesdays at 3pm as an alternative time. Mark requested the
team think about it.
