The Brookings Airport Board was called to order by Lynn Riedesel on Thursday,
October 17, 2024 at 3:30 PM in Conference Room #241, Second Floor. Members
present were Dan Krogstad, Brady Klocker via phone, Isaac Wilde, and Riedesel.
Absent was Brian VanLiere. Also present were City Engineer Charlie Richter, Airport
Manager Lucas Dahl, Maintenance Technician Brett Torgrude, and FBO-Randy
Hansen and Paul Hanusa.
Item #1 - Roll Call
Item #2 - (Krogstad/Klocker) Motion to approve the agenda. All present voted aye.
MOTION CARRIED.
Item #3 - (Klocker/Wilde) Motion to approve the September 19, 2024 minutes. All
present voted aye. MOTION CARRIED.
Item #4 - Airport Manager's Report - The construction of the new hangar is moving
along. The parallel taxiway construction has started. NOTAM's have been issued
pertaining to the project. Dirt work is causing issues with blowing dirt and seagulls.
The Beacon currently is not rotating. Staff has been working on this issue and will get
it repaired once the wind quits blowing.
Some of the REILS's are out and have been ordered. Staff will get these installed,
hopefully next week.
Item #5 - SDSU Report - Riedesel reported for SDSU that Chris Funk retired on October
8rh and they have hired a replacement. SDSU Aviation was shut down for a week
until they appointed a Chief Flight Instructor which has since been accomplished.
Item #6 - FBO Report - Hanusa reported the fuel sales. He also noted that there will
be a new aircraft on the field tomorrow.

Item #8 - Next Scheduled Meeting - November 21, 2024.

voted aye. MOTION CARRIED.
