The Brookings Airport Board was called to order by Brady Klocker on Wednesday,
August 21, 2024 at 3:30 PM in Conference Room #241, Second Floor. Members
present were Dan Krogstad, Isaac Wilde, and Klocker. Absent were Brian VanLiere,
and Lynn Riedesel. Also present were Airport Manager Lucas Dahl and Maintenance
Technician Brett Torgrude.

Item #2 - (Wilde/Krogstad) Motion to approve the agenda. All present voted aye.
MOTION CARRIED.
Item #3 - (Wilde/Klocker) Motion to approve the July 18, 2024 minutes. All present
voted aye. MOTION CARRIED.
Item #4 - Airport Manager's Report - DOT airport inspectors were at the airport to
complete an inspection. Everything looked good and there were no issues. Klocker
asked if the terminal ramp rating had been lowered, Dahl has not received any word
on this. There are some cottonwood trees that were part of a discussion but are not
an issue at this time. They could be in the future so staff will look at taking care of
them before they become too large. The Airport Conference in March of 2025 is
scheduled in Deadwood again. Repairs have been made on the fuel pump system,
replacing the glass on the digital reader. Recently the pumps were not working but
repairs were made and the pumps are up and running again. The concrete for the
new hangar is being poured. The building should arrive next week for construction.
The haying has not been complete yet. Dahl will continue to contact the lease
holder to get this started. The Parallel Taxiway Project has been awarded. City is
waiting on final signatures on the agreement. The contractors should be starting in
about a month.
