The Brookings Airport Board was called to order by Brian VanLiere on Tuesday, June
20, 2024 at 3:30 PM in Conference Room #241, Second Floor. Members present were
Dan Krogstad, Isaac Wilde, and VanLiere. Absent were Lynn Riedesel and Brady
Klocker. Also present were Airport Manager Lucas Dahl and City Engineer Charlie
Richter.

Item #2 - (Krogstad/Wilde) Motion to approve the agenda. All present voted aye.
MOTION CARRIED.
Item #3 - (Wilde/Krogstad) Motion to approve the May 31, 2024 minutes. All present
voted aye. MOTION CARRIED.
Item #4 - Airport Manager's Report - Dahl said that the hangar inspections were
completed yesterday with no major issues. The lease for the new hangar will be
going to council soon. Once approved by council, they will be able to proceed with
building. A meeting with SDDOT and FAA will be held July 15th to discuss fees and
zoning at the airport. They will have recommendations of firms to use. And possibly
the consultant fees can be covered by grant funds. The parallel taxiway extension
project has been advertised and the bid opening is scheduled for July 2nd. The plan
is to start the project this Fall to allow for the dirt to settle and the remainder of the
project will be next Spring. There have been a couple of deer on the airfield so Dahl
wanted to make the pilots are aware of this.
