The Brookings Airport Board was called to order by Brady Klocker on Thursday,
November 16, 2023 at 3:30 PM in Conference Room #241, Second Floor.
Members present were Brian Van Liere, Lynn Riedesel, Isaac Wilde and Klocker.
Also present were Airport Manager Lucas Dahl, and FBO - Randy Hansen.
Item #1 - Roll Call
Item #2 - (Riedesel/Wilde) Motion to approve the agenda. All present voted
aye. MOTION CARRIED.
Item #3 - (VanLiere/Wilde) Motion to approve the October 19, 2023 minutes. All
present voted aye. MOTION CARRIED.
Item #4 - Hangar Lease Renewals - (Riedesel/Klocker) Motion to approve
hangar renewals for United Development, Wilde Air Service, Dakota Wings,
Duane Knutson and Steve Pofahl. All present voted aye. MOTION CARRIED.
Item #5 - Amendment to PK Air hangar lease to Turbo Arrow LLC -
(Riedesel/Wilde) Motion to approve the amendment. All present voted aye.
MOTION CARRIED.
Item #6 - Airport Board Vacancy - Staff will report to the mayor who the Airport
Board members are recommending. City Council should be able to make an
appointment at a December meeting.
Item #7 - Airport Manager's Report - Snow equipment is ready for the season.
The manhole project that BMU is completing should be done soon. A NOTAM
that was issued yesterday apparently had not been watched/read as there was
a lot of activity in the area where the NOTAM was in place. Dahl just reminded
everyone to be sure to watch for NOTAM's. Wildlife hasn't been much of an
issue this Fall, just a few deer and pheasants. PAPI's on 3:0 are not working
again, Muth has been called. 3rd graders had tours of the airport this week.
Airport Hay Lease is up for renewal and the bid opening will be December 5th.
Operations are significantly higher than years past.
Item #8 - SDSU Report - None.
Item #9 - FBO Report - Klocker asked about the digital reader on the fuel
pumps. Dahl is going to talk to Paul Hanusa regarding this.
Item #10 - Other Items & Reports - Hansen inquired about any new hangar
potential. Dahl said there currently is not any interest.
Item #11 - Next Scheduled Meeting - December 21, 2023.
