All present voted aye. MOTION CARRIED.
Item #4 - Airport Manager's Report - Dahl updated the board on the Fuel
Master system. A new modem needed to be ordered and should be delivered
soon, hoping next week it is up and running.
The terminal has been reroofed from the storm damage in May. The ARFF
building still needs to be reroofed.
The AWOS is partially down. The FAA doesn't have funds to fix this currently but
there possibly will be funds after October 1 st.
There have been noise complaints. Devon Bastemeyer has been in contact
with a couple of these people. He has explained to these people the process
and procedures for the students that are flying. Another complaint has been
reported from a citizen that has been emailing to the City Council, the Airport
Board, the FAA, Virtower, and SDSU. Bastemeyer and Dahl both believe that the
traffic that is flying isn't out of line. Bastemeyer is able to observe where the
students are flying and how high or low they are flying. If there are students that
are buzzing houses, he does talk to them. Dahl also explained that these
students have instructors with them so the students are abiding. Klocker stated
that they need to keep safety as main priority and can't change too many
things with their procedures. Airport staff is going to reach out to this citizen to
set up a meeting, possibly at the October Airport Board meeting.
The new hangar is set to be complete by the end of the month. An Open House
is scheduled for the 27tn.
