Members present were Ory Smidt, Brady Klocker, Lynn Riedesel, and Brian VanLiere. Absent was Judy McLaughlin. Also present were Acting Airport Manager Lucas Dahl, City Engineer Charlie Richter, Paul Hanusa-FBO and Devon Bastmeyer from SDSU. Item #1 - Roll Call Item #2 - (Riedesel/Smidt) Motion to approve the agenda. All present voted aye. MOTION CARRIED. Item #3 - (Klocker/Riedesel) Motion to approve the July 22, 2022 minutes. All present voted aye. MOTION CARRIED. Item #4 - Airport Manaqer's Report - Dahl explained that the fuel master needs some improvements. Due to some technical issues, specifically with the phone line, there are some repairs that will need to be done. In doing some trouble shooting, the circuit board was blown and damaged. Pheasants Fury looked into replacing the board on the current machine. And a new system will cost about $12,000.00. The current system is older so it might be better to purchase a new system but there will be a waiting period for this if a new system is ordered. Richter noted that they think the City would be able to purchase a new system within the current years budget. Depending when a new sytem would be available, the City may need to just repair the current system. Hanusa just received a quote from a vendor but the system would not be available until January. This system wouldn't be for a brand new system, but they would utilize some of the current system and make some repairs to it. However, they would be able to provide a system to get us by until the repaired system was back in service. Richter feels that we should move forward with the short term fix and replacing the circuit boards and that would allow us time to do more research. Hanusa is a little concerned with this because replacing the boards might not be the fix. A State Airport Inspection was completed this week. They will complete a report and send to us but everything looked good. The plow truck has been repaired and is back at the airport. Should be ready for snow. The terminal roof will be getting repaired next week. The ARFF building also has repairs that are needed and that should happen this year. There have been a couple of noise complaints, Dahl spoke with the owner of the aircraft. Dahl reviewed the operations reports. No questions. The new hangar is progressing, October 28th is the estimated completion date. Items #5 - SDSU Report - A new instructor just started at SDSU. There are approximately 190 students enrolled for the Fall semester. Item #6 - FBO Report - Hanusa reported that they have had some larger jets come in lately. He is working on the fuel master system. Item #7 - Airport Manager Hiring Process / Update - Richter explained that the job has been posted and will close August 26th. The prescreen interviews will be held the second week of September. Richter would like one of the board members to participate in the interview process. Klocker would be willing to assist with this.
