aye. MOTION CARRIED.
Item #3 - (Klocker/Riedesel) Motion to approve the May 19, 2022 minutes. All
present voted aye. MOTION CARRIED.
Item #4 - Airport Manager's Report - Sommerfeld reported the PAPIs on RWY 30
have been fixed, and problems in the past should not reoccur. The LEDs lights
over the fuel farm have been installed and should provide more lighting for that
portion of the ramp. The terminal building should see a new roof installed in
August that will prolong the life of the building. Currently the terminal building
has some leaks. Snow Removal equipment was bid out a few weeks ago and
will be rejecting all bids due to FAA requirements.
Sommerfeld reported operations from Virtower for both SDSU and total
operations. Van Liere asked if we have received any complaints about noise,
and Sommerfeld said no noise issues from SDSU in the last month.
Sommerfeld asked the airport board if they wanted any future information in the
manager's report. Klocker asked if they could see the fuel flowage the City
receives monthly. Sommerfeld said that shouldn't be an issue, and there may be
months in the winter where they don't receive any fuel loads from the FBO or
other entities.
Hanusa mentioned the hangar project is currently in progress with an October
completion date. Riedesel asked if all the steel had been delivered and, if not,
when to expect it. Hanusa said all the steel was delivered a couple of weeks
ago.
Items #5 - SDSU Report - Funk reported that the summer program is starting to
slow down and is getting ready for the fall semester. Funk also mentioned the fly -
in was a success and received around $4,000 in donations with numerous
aircraft rides during the event.
Item #6 - FBO Report - Hanusa said they received a load of Avgas and have
been steady over the past couple of months. They are currently training a
couple of new staff members to help with FBO ops.
Items #7 - Other Items & Reports - Reidesel asked if a new aircraft would be
based at the airfield. Funk mentioned we might see an additional aircraft based
once the SDSU hangar is completed. Sommerfeld said the aircraft owner would
like to attend an airport board meeting and provide all information related to
the aircraft
