HomeMy WebLinkAboutMHTFMinutes_ 2019-03-11Brookings City/County/School Mental Health Task Force March 11, 2019 A meeting of the Brookings City/County/School Mental Health Task Force was held on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. in the Brookings City & County Government Center. Present: Mary Beth Fishback, Nikki Eining, Craig Pahl, Sylvia Buboltz and Angela Boersma. Also present: Brookings County Commission Department Director Stacy Steffensen, City Executive Administrative Assistant Angie Ritter and Avera Intern Rhiannon Nedland. Chairperson Eining called the meeting to order. A motion was made by Fishback, seconded by Pahl to approve the agenda for the March 11, 2019 City/County/School Mental Health Task Force meeting. All members vote “aye.” Motion carried. A motion was made by Fishback, seconded by Buboltz to approve the minutes from the October 15, 2018 meeting. All members voted “aye.” Motion carried. Eining said the 211 Helpline is having a meeting on March 29th at 8:30 a.m. at the Brookings Activity Center. She said part of the discussion will be how to make the Resource Guide easier to access. The group reviewed the results from the needs assessment survey. Boersma asked what it is that they ultimately want to present to the city, county and school district. Pahl asked what their expectations are. Buboltz said they need to make recommends and provide opportunities for change, otherwise she questions what this group has done the last two years. Fishback said she would email the survey results for everyone for further review. The group discussed how to present their information. Fishback said there may be a number of entities that will want to hear the presentation. Eining suggested holding a community-wide presentation. The Task Force set a presentation date for Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chambers of the Government Center. They plan to invite the city council, county commission and school board members. Future meetings were set for Monday, April 8, 2019, Monday, May 13, 2019 and Monday, June 3, 2019, all at 12:00 p.m. Motion by Boersma, seconded by Fishback to adjourn.
