Absent: Rachel Holm, Carol Jung Guests: Ismael Collazo 1. The meeting was called to order at 12:02 pm a. Doran requested an amendment the agenda to add review of SDSU Applicants motion made by Grendler, seconded by Stauff. The motion carried by the following votes: Yes Weiss, Doran, Grendler, Sternhagen, Stauff, Platte No: 2. Approval of Agenda: a. A motion to approve the agenda was made by Platte, seconded by Stauff. The motion carried by the following votes: Yes Weiss, Doran, Grendler, Sternhagen, Stauff, Platte No: 3. Approval of Minutes: a. A motion to approve the agenda was made by Platte, seconded by Stauff. The motion carried by the following votes: Yes Weiss, Doran, Grendler, Sternhagen, Stauff, Platte No: 4. Officer Updates: a. Chair- no report b. Vice Chair-no report c. Recorder-no report d. Publicity coordinator -no report e. County ADA coordinator – no report f. City ADA coordinator- i. Ismael recommendation to be added to the committee has been delayed ii. Check the city website to verify information on there is correct g. SDSU: vacant i. Jon provided update—Wednesday October 6, at 7 pm there is a public talk by Alex Post—sharing his story 5. Public Promotions: a. Proclamation—review so it can be ready to go for October 12 b. Ali Teesdale –Brookings County Youth Mentoring completed a training to expand mentoring program focusing on inclusion. More promotion will be coming out soon, asking us to help promote it when it comes out. 6. Committee/Taskforce Updates: a. Marketing Sub-committee i. Name tags, Mark was unable to find the right light to attach ii. Aysia will join iii. October 15 is White Cane Awareness—we would like to do an event 1. Izzy, Matt, and Aysia will work on. Nancy will check with city to see what types of permits and requirements we would need 2. Sternhagen made a motion to spend $100 on this event, Stauff second. The motion carried by the following votes: Yes Weiss, Doran, Grendler, Sternhagen, Stauff, Platte No: b. Accessibility Taskforce i. City website, there is limited things we can do 7. Other Items: a. SDSU Applicants –Platte motioned and Stauff seconded to recommend Alyssa to the committee. The motion carried by the following votes: Yes Weiss, Doran, Grendler, Sternhagen, Stauff, Platte No: b. Election Grendler made a motion to open elections, Platte seconded. The motion carried by the following votes: Yes Weiss, Doran, Grendler, Sternhagen, Stauff, Platte No: Discussion: -Mark would like to stay in his role -Matt would stay in his role or do recorder -Jenny would stay in her role if needed but fine with not -Brianna would like to step down, feels there should be new leadership -Aysia would step into a role -no one felt comfortable stepping into the role as chair Grendler made a motion to close elections, Platte seconded. The motion carried by the following votes: Yes Weiss, Doran, Grendler, Sternhagen, Stauff, Platte No: Election was closed a zoom meeting will be set up to 8. Announcement: 9. Adjourn: a.
