1. The meeting was called to order at 12:05 pm
2. A motion to move Accessibity Taskforce update to the beginning of the meeting. A motion was
made by Weiss and seconded by Carol. The motion carried by the following votes: Yes Jung, Weiss,
Stauff, Grendler, Doran, Sternhagen, No:

5. Accessibility Taskforce: Reviewed plans that Shawn present. A discussion regarding floor covering.
Storage being lower. Countertops can be an issue. Door size and being able to keep the door open.
Prefer kick down type to open door, prefer door that does have a push auto closer on it. Front load
vs top load washing machines. Microwave placement. Community room for a place for residents to
go to be social. Sound to have carpet to absorb sounds. Shower vs tub

a. Chair: city council passed our name change. Council thanked us
b. Vice Chair: no updates
c. Recorder: no updates
d. Publicity coordinator: April 2—World Autism Day, April 4, Auditory Processing Day, April 11,
Parkinson Disease International.
e. County ADA coordinator: no update
f. City ADA coordinator: Aysia Platte, interested in joining the committee, background on her:
moved to Brookings three months ago, working on opening a non-profit, Ehlers-Danlos
Syndrome. Susan will email her the application and we will look into if there is an opening
g. SDSU Liaison Update: April 13 event at 6pm
8. Public Promotions:
a. 2020 Awards—Video we made with chamber with new name, so we will publish it now
b. Pheasant forgot to schedule, so they are going to get us a date with a two week lead time.
9. Committee/Taskforce Updates:
a. Marketing Sub-committee—no updates
