All present voted aye. MOTION CARRIED. Item #4 - Airport Manager's Report - Mueller asked about the flight pattern and the noise associated with aircraft flying over residential areas. Mueller mentioned it's getting worse over time and asked if the flight activity would continue to grow. Bastemeyer said SDSU is likely going to cap out for the next couple of years and doesn't expect the flight activity to increase more than what they are currently flying now. Bastemeyer has mentioned that SDSU will be working with their flight instructors to shorten their pattern and make their crosswind leg over Main Street by the Pheasant Restaurant when using runway 12. Sommerfeld asked once those changes become widespread if Mueller can let the airport and SDSU know if those changes improved the noise over residential areas or if we need to revisit the issue for other solutions. Sommerfeld also noted he would be working with the FAA on a possible fly -friendly program to try and avoid noise -sensitive areas when possible. Klocker mentioned the airport had issued runway 30, the preferred runway when winds are calm, which will help with noise. Sommerfeld said the lights about the fuel farm will be converted to LEDs this summer to help with lighting around the area. Randy Hanson updated the hangar construction and the damage associated with last week's storm. Hanson mentioned that most of the steel was damaged and may not be salvageable. Steel was ordered the next day, and Hanson will have an updated timetable for the hangar once materials arrive. Sommerfeld updated the board on other damage from the storm, with several hangar doors damaged. Sommerfeld asked the airport on feedback on having food trucks at the airport for the community to enjoy food while watching aircraft takeoff and land.
