Chair Sternhagen called the meeting to order at 12:01 pm
Doran made a motion and Grendler seconded to adopt the agenda. Motion passed.
Doran made a motion and Crevier seconded to approve the minutes of August meeting. Motion Passed
1. Update on Independent Living Choices/Department of Social Services.
a. Mark spoke at this event and it went really well. He gave an overview of the committee
and handed out post-it notes
2. Public Promotions
a. Whatifitwasme
i. Mark added an explanation on the back as to what they are to be used for.
1. Discussion about adding a city email as well –discussion tabled to look
into it further
ii. Reviewed the image thinking of a white background, looking to add a line on the
front
1. Subcommittee with Weiss and Grendler to review the direction of what
we want with this campaign along with what email address to use
b. Subcommittee
i. It is too late to be a part of the WILL luncheon this years as they start planning a
year in advance
ii. Still looking at other options for October’s event
iii. Grendler made a motion and Weiss seconded to approve the committee pay for
anyone on the committee that would like to attend the October 2, WILL event
iv. October 23- Mark will be speaking at 1 million cups
v. Octobere 23 Mark will be speaking to pre-professional group of medical
students at Rotunda D
vi. Mark and Amber will be meeting ADA coordinator at SDSU for discussion on
how to partner
c. Marketing Brochures
i. Tabled an subcommittee from above will look at and report back to group with
recommendations on how to proceed.
3. Other Items
a. Matt Smit would like to come in to speak to the group about past committee work.
Setting up a time for the future for him to come in.
b. Website discussion from last time, committee decided to no longer pursue with idea.
