A meeting of the Comprehensive Master Plan Advisory Committee was held on Monday, May 15, 2017
at 5:00 p.m. in the Brookings City and County Government Center. Members present: Keith Corbett,
Ben Stout, Kristi Tornquist, Angie Boersma, Dave Odens, Lee Ann Pierce, Paul Von Fischer, Doug
Carruthers, Brenda Schweitzer, Jessica Garcia Fritz, Beth Niemeyer, Ben Kleinjan and Robert Watrel.
Amy Haase, Project Manager, and Nick Klimek, Project Planner, were both present from RDG Planning
and Design. City staff present: Mike Struck, Community Development Director; and Staci Bungard, City
Planner.
Chair Corbett called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. and the committee approved the April 19, 2017
Meeting Minutes. Chair Corbett then turned the meeting over to Amy Haase and Nick Klimek to present
information on the stakeholder meetings, data collection, and draft development principles.
Summary Report of May Stakeholder Meetings.
Amy Haase and Nick Klimek provided an overview of the stakeholder meetings to the committee.
Presentation on Data Collection Update.
RDG Planning & Design is in the process of disseminating the online community survey results and
developing population projections. Amy Haase provided an update on the preliminary information
pertaining to the survey results and community demographic data.
Presentation on Development Principles.
Amy Haause ask the committee for feedback on several draft development principles that have been
established as a result of the stakeholder meetings.
Meeting Schedule. Next meeting will be June 12, 2017 at 5:00 PM.
Meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
