1. Call To Order
called to order by Brian VanLiere
Members present were Brady Klocker, Lynn Riedesel, Orv Smidt, Brian VanLiere and Judy McLaughlin.
Also present were Airport Manager Matthew Sommerfeld,
Maintenance Technician Lucas Dahl,
FBO-Randy Hanson and Paul Hanusa
2. Approval of Agenda
(Riedesel/Smidt) Motion to approve the agenda. All present voted aye. MOTION CARRIED.
3. Approval of Minutes
(Klocker/McLaughlin) Motion to approve the January 21, 2021 Minutes. All present voted aye. MOTION
CARRIED.
4. Next Scheduled Meeting - March 18, 2021
5. Airport Manager's Updates
PAPI out of service for runway 30
Fuel sales 4,860 gallons with were up 400 from last year
A possible use of an aircraft traffic tracking service was discussed from Virtower.
6. Helm's Update
The 5 year bid process was completed for the airport engineer. Helms and Associates in won the
contract for the next 5 years. . CDI of Brookings is the local engineering firm.
Working on the seal coat contracts for this summer. Bidding process hasn’t started yet but will be soon.
Money has been allocated for 2021.
7. Approval of Land Lease
Change the lease document to remove the insurance requirements. Still required for commercial use.
Update a few verbiage changes in the rent section.
(Riedesel/Klocker) Motion to approve the new land lease with the noted revision above report. All
present voted aye. MOTION CARRIED.
8. Review and Approval of 2020 Airport Board Annual Report
Annual report was reviewed. Correction was noted: 4 new aircraft were added this past year
(Klocker/McLaughlin) Motion to approve annual report. All present voted aye. MOTION CARRIED.
9. SDSU Report
Klocker reported that SDSU have been busy with students flying. They are also in the process of hiring a
Manger for the SDSU airport operations.
