Overall Sentiment Josephine Waldner Location: Submitted At: 3:57pm 03-23-21 Please support this ordnance. My first comments inadvertently went under ordnance 21-013. MY complete support is to ordnance 21-012. I believe our situation still requires the mask mandate and business restrictions. Brookings is back in the substantial category spring break is just over and we still need to follow the science and recommendations of CDC to continue the masks and business restrictions. Now is not the time to let our guard down. I ask your support. Dianne Nagy Location: Submitted At: 6:45pm 03-22-21 Please continue to promote caution, compassion, and concern for the common good by implementing ordinances that are informed by science and follow CDC guidelines. Your leadership has steered us through rough waters. It is too soon to abandon the helm. Agenda Item: eComments for 8.C. Overall Sentiment Josephine Waldner Location: Submitted At: 3:47pm 03-23-21 Please support this ordnance in its entirety. Continue to protect the vulnerable population of the city. Brookings has made great decisions regarding the COvid-19 pandemic and restrictions. Now is not the time to let our guard down, Brookings is back in the substantial category, spring break is just over, local cases have been increasing again. Please support a few more weeks of protection for our citizens of Brookings, Mary Schwader Location: Submitted At: 3:38pm 03-23-21 This is a good compromise between those that deem mask wearing a sensible choice and those that want businesses to be fully open and because: 1) we're still in a substantial spread; 2) case load has increased in surrounding states; 3) substantial numbers still need vaccinated; 4) variants continue to spread which may impact those who've already gotten vaccinated. I applaud most of the council for their leadership and courage during this difficult past year. Agenda Item: eComments for 8.D. ORD 21-004 Public Hearing and Action on reconsideration of Ordinance 21-004, an Ordinance revising Division 3 of Chapter 82 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Brookings and Pertaining to Speed Zones in the City of Brookings, South Dakota. Overall Sentiment Paul Olson Location: Submitted At: 4:22pm 03-23-21 We live in the area and use 20th St S multiple times daily. Since the road reconstruction we have no problem seeing and reacting to anyone that is attempting to cross the intersection. We support increasing the speed limit back to 35 mph.
