Attendance: Matthew Weiss, Brianna Doran, Jenny Grendler, Mark Sternhagen, Rachel Holm
County ADA Coordinator: Kristen Witchey
City ADA Coordinator: Susan Rotert.
Absent: Connie Lemke, Andrew Royer, Nadine Gjerde, Destini Crevier, Kaylee Botlon
Guests:
1. The meeting to order at 12:05 pm
2. Doran motioned to move Public Relations Position to number three on the agenda and remove item
6 Weiss seconded Motion passed.
3. Weiss motioned, Doran seconded to approve the minutes of July meeting. Motion Passed
4. Public Relations Position
Doran made a motion to create this position on the committee based on the description
previously sent in email. Weiss 2nd. Motion passed.
5. Elections of Officer
Chair: Sternhagen nominated Brianna Doran, Grendler seconded, she accepted. Motion passed
Vice Chair: Sternhagen nominated Matt Weiss, Doran seconded, he accepted. Motion passed
Recorder: Doran nominated Jenny Grendler, Mark seconded, she accepted. Motion passed
Public Relations Position: Weiss nominated Sternhagen, Doran seconded, he accepted. Motion
passed.
6. Budget Update $3,580
7. Public Promotions:
A. Whatifitwasme Task force update—no update
B. Able Award—motion to open nominations to the public—Sternhagen moved, Grendler
seconded. Motioned carried
C. 2nd award, motion to open nomination to the public, pending a final name decision, as
presented in supporting documents sent out previously. Sternhagen moved, Weiss second.
Discussion on when the award would be presented, the plan would be in for it to be given at
Mayor’s Banquet. Motion passed
D. National Disability Employment Awareness Month, October
The plan is to seek out 3-5 short videos from the community to run on our social media to
raise awareness
E. Motion to approve the Mayor Proclamation as sent in email. Weiss so moved, Sternhagen
second. No discussion, motion passed.
8. Other Items
A. Do we want to create ADA task Force to help businesses with ADA requests?
Yes, we will create a task force that would help determine a process for how and what
Type of advising we can/will do for local business. Weiss and Holm volunteered. Doran
Will send out an email to get more volunteers.
Announcement: no announcements
9. Next meeting –we will try to do a hybrid meeting, Doran will send out a doodle to see about date and
time.
