SDSU Liaison— Nadine Gjerde Absent: Andrew Royer Started Meeting at 12:03 Doran moved to fixed agenda to have guest speakers go first, Weiss seconded. Motion passed Sylvia Buboltz and Matt Simet presented about Voc Rehab, Advance, Career Advantage, and their time on the committee Advance is partnering with BAHRA and the Chamber of Commerce to create an event in October promoting disabilities in the workplace Career Advantage is partnering with small businesses working to hire people with disabilities and interested in a partnership with the city committee too VR contracts a lot with Career Advantage for employment help Jackie Lanning, the City Engineer, presented on the Bob Sheldon Complex Remodeling project The following notes were made by the committee: Ensure that there are four ADA seating spots on the ground floor with companion seats In the parking lot keep the handicap spots where they are currently located to have at least three and potentially a van spot for the front access, look at adding handicap spots at the lower field entrance as well with a van spot The press box is not ADA accessible, not required, but should be highly considered for employment, volunteer, or visitors. Currently is too high to have a chair lift, but could add an elevator later on, but would be more expensive *The committee did not approve final plans, but gave several notes on considerations and requirements for the complex revitalization. The final plan will be made in February before the committee meets again. Matt Bartley presented on snow removal in the city Parks department can work with code enforcement for sidewalks staying clear The plan can be found online and the brochure was changed this year to be tear off— can be found in city buildings ------- ADA convention is in Kansas City the committee might be able to help fund part of event if anyone wanted to attend Budget—all items were ordered and delivered except the brochures Subcommittee Report Will email the notes to the entire committee Creating a timeline for SDSU awareness event, hope to partner with Nadine and her event March 30-April 3rd, send any ideas to Matt Doran moved to approve minutes with spelling changes of attendee names, Weiss seconded.
