their time on the committee
Advance is partnering with BAHRA and the Chamber of Commerce to create an event in
October promoting disabilities in the workplace
Career Advantage is partnering with small businesses working to hire people with
disabilities and interested in a partnership with the city committee too
VR contracts a lot with Career Advantage for employment help
Jackie Lanning, the City Engineer, presented on the Bob Sheldon Complex Remodeling project
The following notes were made by the committee:
Ensure that there are four ADA seating spots on the ground floor with
companion seats
In the parking lot keep the handicap spots where they are currently located to
have at least three and potentially a van spot for the front access, look at
adding handicap spots at the lower field entrance as well with a van spot
The press box is not ADA accessible, not required, but should be highly
considered for employment, volunteer, or visitors. Currently is too high
to have a chair lift, but could add an elevator later on, but would be more
expensive
*The committee did not approve final plans, but gave several notes on considerations
and requirements for the complex revitalization. The final plan will be made in February before
the committee meets again.
Matt Bartley presented on snow removal in the city
Parks department can work with code enforcement for sidewalks staying clear
The plan can be found online and the brochure was changed this year to be tear off—
can be found in city buildings
-------
ADA convention is in Kansas City the committee might be able to help fund part of event if
anyone wanted to attend
Budget—all items were ordered and delivered except the brochures
