Michelle Robbins arrived at 7:00 p.m. Cindy Mydland from the Sioux Valley Clinic arrived at 7:00 p.m. Representatives from the Brookings Regional Pain Center presented information from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Attorney R. Helsper was present for the presentation. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by President Roberts. Board members went into Executive Session at 6:00 p.m. in accordance with SDCL 1-25-2.5). Board members came out of Executive Session at 7:40 p.m. Brenda Johnson arrived at 7:40 p.m. to present information on BVM State Department of Health Survey. Board members thanked Brenda and asked her to relaytake back to her staff that they should be commended commendation for their good work. Financial Report: CFO Coffey presented the Brookings Hospital, Brookview Manor, Home Health/Hospice Agency, and Brookhaven Estates financials for June 2005. which showed a year to date corporate profit of $1,568, 817.... Motion by Blazey, seconded by Olson to approve the financial report. All members present voted in favor of the motion. This included $797,557.90 in payroll and benefit expense for the month. Strategic Planning: Michelle Robbins reported on from the July 13, 2005The Strategic Planning Committee meetingminutes which met on July 13 and the minutes were included in the advance agenda packet. . Items discussed were our Mission and Vision statement, Brookings Regional Pain Center, Strategic Planning Process, WellAHEAD Concept, IT & Infrastructure, EICU, and CAH status. A motion by Wicks, seconded by Olson to authorize Carda to initiate the strategic planning process and to contact an independent firm to conduct a community survey. The contract will allow for rent based on fair market value and will take into account the need for a temporary mobile MRI to be available until the fixed MRI is installed.
