An Ordinance amending Chapter 51, Subdivision Regulations of the City of
Brookings pertaining to information required of preliminary and final plats for
purposes of administration of the Subdivision Ordinance
Be It Ordained by the Governing Body of the City of Brookings, South Dakota that the
Subdivision Regulations be amended as follows:
I.
ARTICLE Ill. PRELIMINARY PLAT
That Section 51-31 of Artilce Ill. Of the Subdivision Regulations shall be amended to
read as follows:
Sec. 51-31. -Information required.
Whenever a preliminary plat is proposed, the developer shall submit one copy at an
appropriate engineering scale but in no case greater than a scale of 200 feet to one
inch. The preliminary plat shall be submitted to the Community Development
Department on or before the first day of the month in order for the preliminary plat to be
considered at the following month's Planning Commission meeting (e.g. file by August
1st for consideration at the September Planning Commission meeting). The preliminary
plat shall contain the following:

ARTICLE IV. FINAL PLAT
That Section 51-42 of Article IV. of the Subdivision Regulations shall be amended to
read as follows:
Sec. 51-42. -Information required.
One electronic copy and one reproducible mylar of the plat with signatures shall be
submitted to the community development department. An electronic CAD file version of
the plat line work, produced in accordance with the city engineering standards, shall also
accompany the plat submission. The CAD line work must match signed hardcopy. The
plat shall be drawn at a scale of 100 feet to one inch, or at an appropriate scale as
determined by the licensed land surveyor, from an accurate survey and on one or more
sheets whose dimensions are as required by state law. If more than two sheets are
required, an index sheet of the same dimension shall be attached and filed. The plat shall
show the following information:
