Agenda Discussions:  Tom called the meeting to order.  The May 27, 2020 minutes were approved.  May financials were presented. nd  The 2 quarter event and attendance summary were presented.  Tom presented for Kristina (Sales & Marketing report) the Willie Nelson concert in August has been postponed to a new undecided date. Beatles vs Stones has been moved to September 21, 2020. Results of the VenuWorks/Swifel Center fan survey were released. Event surveys have been sent to all participants of the Charolais and Simmental cattle shows.  Tom presented for Matt (Director of F&B report) the 60+ Dining meals ended in June. COVID 19 measures were in place for the cattle shows including: plexiglass for servers, masks and gloves for all F&B workers, 6ft stickers for concession and catering lines. Meals were served in boxes, condiments were individually wrapped and beverages were single served. Two guest chefs were brought in to help with the night shift. They were from other VenuWorks buildings – Holland MI and Davenport IA. A refer truck was brought in for food storage. The Charolais show had 1 float social, 4 lunches, 4 dinners which served 7000 people. The Simmental show had 1 breakfast, 4 lunches, 1 dinner which served 5000 people. The Holstein show had 3 lunches, 1 dinner which served 500 people.  No Associate Executive Director Report  Tom reported: o The Charolais, Simmental and Holstein cattle shows represented 30 states that were in attendance. There were many compliments on the facility and staff. The Simmental show was nationally broadcasted and viewed by over 15,000. The RV spots were expanded permanently. Some full time employees were here for 100 hours a week for 5 weeks. o During the three weeks of cattle shows there were no other city events happening so we will be able to get a good picture of the economic impact we had on hotels, restaurants and gas stations. Once the surveys are back from the participants we will present the information. o Now that the PPP loans are done there is still a possibility of having to furlough full time employees in 2020. 824 32nd Ave., Brookings, SD 57006 | 605-692-7539 | www.swiftelcenter.com o The 2021 Operating Budget as well as the 10 year CIP Budget have been through the City work sessions. The first and second readings will be in August and September. Our operating budget was cut by 20% from 2020. The City is not funding the fireworks display in 2021. Another event that may not happen in 2021 is the Wing & Brew Fest. o We are adjusting all events according to the City Ordinance and CDC guidelines.  Next meeting Wednesday September 30, 2020 at NOON.  Tom adjourned the meeting.
