HomeMy WebLinkAboutSCABMinutes_2018_11_29 824 32nd Ave., Brookings, SD 57006 | 605-692-7539 | www.swiftelcenter.com Advisory Board Meeting Minutes Thursday, November 29, 2018 @ 4:00pm Conference Room Present: Kyleigh Cramer, Jeff Holm, Jennifer Johnson; Paul Briseno, Brookings City Manager; Tom Richter, Swiftel Center Executive Director, Jeremy Linstad, Swiftel Center Associate Executive Director, Kristina Lankow, Swiftel Center Sales & Marketing Manager, Andrea Hogie, Swiftel Center Director of Finance. Agenda Discussions:  Jennifer called the meeting to order.  The September 27, 2018 minutes were approved.  October financials were presented.  The 3rd Quarter events, event days and attendance was presented.  Kristina presented the upcoming events for December, January and February which include: MG Leagues Dart Tournament, Swiftel Center Basketball Classic, East River 8 Ball Tournament, Will Summit, Dakota Territory Gun Show, I-29 Moo University Workshop, Tri Company Dart Tournament, Old Dominion Concert, Hairball, Paws for Wine, Will Luncheon, Kane Brown Concert and various meetings. The 2018 Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign raised over $4000 to be donated to the Brookings Health System Foundation. We had a Chamber ribbon cutting for the newly remodeled space. Kristina showed everyone the Brookings Opoly game which the Swiftel Center has a game piece and spot on the board.  Matt was not present.  Jeremy reported that the Shinedown/Godsmack concert was our largest production show to date. There was a stage inside and outside. We are working with Daktronics to get more scoreboard layouts for volleyball and rodeo. Daktronics will potentially book another five tech shows next year because of our updated technology in the meeting rooms. He is working on Phase 1 of expanding the WiFi in the conference area. Old Dominion who won Vocal Group will be here in January. Hairball will go on sale soon with a special offer. The City Council passed the budget amendment to resolve our 2017 shortfall. The Larson Ice Arena project could affect some of our livestock shows in 2019. MetaBank renewed their signage agreement for another 5 years. We received the 2019 Great Service Star Designation from the SD Department of Tourism. We are also certified sensory inclusive with KultureCity. The National Charolais signed the contract to have their show here in July 2020.  Jennifer adjourned the meeting.  Next meeting January 31, 2019 at 4:00pm.
