Advisory Board Meeting Minutes
Thursday, March 29, 2018 @ 4:00pm
County Board Room
Present: Rod Schaefer, Kyleigh Cramer, Jennifer Johnson, Nick Schmeichel; Jeff Weldon, Brookings City
Manager; Tom Richter, Swiftel Center Executive Director, Jeremy Linstad, Swiftel Center Associate
Executive Director, Matt Chapman, Swiftel Center Director of Food & Beverage, Kristina Lankow, Swiftel
Center Sales & Marketing Manager.
Agenda Discussions:
Jennifer Johnson called the meeting to order.
The January 25, 2018 minutes were approved.
Tom presented the January and February financials.
Kristina gave an update on the April and May events which include: WILL, SDSU Rodeo, CASA
Fire & Ice Gala, SDSU Engineering Expo, BHS Prom, Lincoln Day Dinner, Quilt Show, HomeFree
Concert, BHS Graduation, Memorial Day Program, Got Milk Gala and various meetings. Kristina
also gave an update on the Event Surveying process. The 2017 Annual Reports were handed out.
Matt reviewed our contract with food provider US Foods.
Jeremy reported on the audio updates in the new conference space. Swiftel Communications won the
data upgrades. Safe & Secure will be on site to get the card access set up. Clark Drew was awarded
the construction contract for the new area.
Tom reported that there is very stiff competition in the market at this time. He reviewed the positive
comments from the Styx tour manager. Also, informed everyone that Midwest Supercross will no
longer be at the Swiftel Center.
Jennifer Johnson adjourned the meeting.
