Advisory Board Meeting Minutes
Thursday, January 31, 2019 @ 4:00pm

Present: Kyleigh Cramer, Jeff Holm, Jennifer Johnson, Rod Schaefer, Tim Peters; Tom Richter, Swiftel
Center Executive Director, Matt Chapman, Swiftel Center Director of Food & Beverage, Kristina Lankow,
Swiftel Center Sales & Marketing Manager
Agenda Discussions:
Jennifer called the meeting to order.
Tim Peters a new board member was introduced.
Jennifer Johnson was elected as Chair and Jeff Holm was elected as Vice Chair
The November 29, 2018 minutes were approved.
December financials were presented.
The 4th Quarter events, event days and attendance was presented.
Kristina presented the upcoming events for February and March which include: Hairball, Paws for
Wine, SD State Gymnastics, Bridal Show, Will Luncheon, Kane Brown Concert, American Freestyle
Bullfighting, Whitetails Banquet, State AAU Wrestling, Wildfire Cheer & Dance and various
meetings. Information was presented about winning the George S Mickelson Great Service Award at
the SD Tourism Conference. Kristina highlighted campaign statistics from two holiday campaigns –
ticket sales and wedding receptions. She showed the instagram video shot by the SD Tourism at the
Old Dominion concert.
Matt highlighted the upcoming events that are pairing concerts with banquet events such as 1) two
banquets before the Hairball concert 2) a banquet during the Kane Brown concert 3) a holiday party
during the Am Freestyle bullfighting event. The NAIA Track social will be feeding a very large
group of people in a short amount of time. There is a new F&B campaign promoting our in house
catering to create greater awareness of what we offer. Matt presented the updated Wedding
Reception Menu.
Tom presented for Jeremy the wireless capabilities of our facility. Ungerboeck (our event software)
will be implementing phase two this summer. Also highlighted were our new liquid ice melt s ystem
and the new arena scoreboard displays. Jeremy is celebrating 15 years with IAVM and Tom is
celebrating 20 years with IAVM.

Tom discussed wanting to create a more clear channel of communication with the board throughout
the year. One idea mentioned doing was a “End of the Month – Top 3 Things” sent via email.
Another idea was continuing the FaceBook campaign dashboards. He would like to present a
solution at the next meeting. Tom discussed the Larson Ice Center floor project and how that could
impact our events.
Jennifer adjourned the meeting.
