Call to Order: Roll Call – Members present: Ashley Biggar, Taylor McKeown, Darla Biel, Kate Treiber. Others present: Ashley Ragsdale, Stacy Claussen, & Dusty Rodiek 2. Approval of Agenda: No quorum. 3. Approval of Minutes: No quorum. 4. Old Business: A. 2020-22 Commission Work Plan: No update. B. City/County Building Art Update: Darla reported the art is in, Carrie is willing to come back for a Meet and Greet, and lighting was added. C. Conditions/Maintenance Report & Recommendations: Taylor talked to Chad G. from Artisan Concrete. Darla said Wolf did some work on Oasis piece in the past. Little Professor would be $200-$300 and police piece $375 – 500 for an initial cleaning of brass and then $125-$250 each for annual sealing. Darla asked to look into adopting Little Professor at a later meeting since no one knows who provided the piece and it is on City-owned sidewalk. D. Paint the Plows Update: Ashley R said we won’t do this year. Great idea that we’ll push back to next fall. Darla said moving forward, will turn this item into a collaboration point to talk about potential projects and ideas. E. Bob Shelden Capital Improvement Project: Dusty said we need a contract from the artist. Darla will send another email to Reed & Madden regarding contract. Council may have to approve after contract. F. Harmony Hill Musical Playground Update: No update from Rotary on the Rotary District 5610 Grant. G. NEA Our Town Grant: Ashley R said grant is submitted for $117k to include 8 murals, app, asset mapping, and art celebrating. 5. New Business 6. Correspondence/Announcements/Calendar: A. Next Meeting: Nov 5th at 12 PM B. SMU Data Arts Vibrancy Index: Darla reported we didn’t make it for 2020, but not abnormal. Cities go off and on it. See more here: https://culturaldata.org/. C. Open Positions: The School of Design position is open. Mayor Corbett will review. Two potential positions will open at the end of the year (one from Brookings Arts Council & one from Historic Preservation). D. New Roles Starting 2021: Darla will step down from Chair; Ashley Biggar is willing to move up from Vice-Chair. Ashley B is also serving as secretary so we’ll need two volunteers to fill officer roles in 2021. 7. Adjournment Submitted, Ashley Biggar
